Polly Powell Marsh of Lawrenceburg, TN 38464
I am a Rotarian, a CPA and an artist. I saw the article on you in the January Rotarian magazine. I enjoyed it and I look forward to adding your Portraits of the Praries to my library. I, too, enjoy painting while traveling for Rotary and personal reasons. Polly Marsh

Marilyn Timms of Vancouver Island, Canada
Hello, Richard! I am a fellow Rotarian/Artist and read all about you in the current Rotarian with great pleasure. It is an honor to know such a fine artist as yourself shares my own support for Rotary! If you are ever in the Pacific Northwest (I live on Vancouver Island in Canada) it would be wonderful to meet you in person!I will look for a copy of your book today.

Frances Bostwick of Loveland, Colorado
I have just finished reading, pondering and devouring your book. It is absolutely wonderful – every aspect: the quotes from Cather’s book, your commentary and of course, the paintings. All of these have engraved an image of Nebraska in my mind – so much so that I actually want to go back there and explore. What a wonderful achievement. And what a wonderful talent you have and are sharing with others as Willa Cather did. Congratuatlions. I am honored to know you and to experience this book. your book. Just reread your book before going on vacation with a sketchbook and watercolors. What a wonderful inspiration with so many great sketches and a helpful commentary.

I purchased Watercolor Journeys some years ago and it is my most-loved art book! I also am an artist and your book has inspired me to log my own watercolor journeys in my sketchbooks. Right now I am having treatment for stage 4 cancer, but if things go well, I will order the new book you are publishing. Thank you for being an inspiration to me.

I just visited the website. What a great showcase for your work. Very well done and easy to use. You are my favorite artist! I might be a bit predjudice, but honestly, you are an inspiration not only because of your incredible talent but also because of your generosity.

My formal education is civil engineer but since retirement I have more time for my watercolor hobby. I admire your work as an artist and as a doctor. Thank you for sharing your talents with us. Will be publishing another book soon?

I LOVE the new site! A beautiful visual presentation. Just a delight to look at--and easy to navigate, as well. I have not seen your works on "Following Christopher Columbus" & "Mexico--What fun. (I really like the sketch books almost the best--the reader in me, I suppose:)) Seems like these days I rarely pass website links on, but this is one site I can't wait to send to my family & friends! You continue to be an inspiration to us in many ways! Love, Heather

James Rowe Adams of The Center for Progressive Christianity, Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Watercolor Journeys is an impressive book. I picked it up intending to flip through the pages pausing only long enough to admire a few pictures that happened to catch my attention. Instead, I found myself engrossed in the text and admiring every one of your sketches and paintings. I have been proud to show your book to family and friends, including professional artists who assured me that your advice to would-be watercolorists is sound.

Carol Walters of Palm Desert, CA
Your website is top notch!! What a joy! As you were an inspiration to me in my dental career, I know you are an inspiration to many aspiring watercolorists! I'm having difficulty deciding which print(s) I want to purchase! Thanks for your dedication to excellence, Carol

Dick, it is wonderful to see your recent works "Following Christopher Columbus". I was fascinated to see the watercolors like, Teatre Catala, Ocean views, The Cathedral of Cadiz and also the pen and ink sketch, Funchal. Dick, I have been your fan for a long time. Your work is lovely, interesting, uniting, and challenging. You suggested to me doing just what you are demonstating in your book when I was in Islamabad, Pakistan. Not enough time left to do it then, but on my next trip I will be well trained by you and better equipped! Thank you!! Blessings and love, Jo Ann

Joanne Munro of Lakewood, Colorado
I love traveling, good art, and beautiful books, so I picked your book up yesterday. But have had only a few minutes to look it over. So far I'm thrilled with it. Hope to see more of your work - and more books, PLEASE!

This book was a prize from a survey questionaire. I would have never bought the book for myself because I never thought that I would make a watercolor journal but after reading this book and seeing the illustrations, I was so inspired!!! I had an old sketch pad and headed outside with it and this book, then, sat down and sketched things around my home and town. This sketching brought so much personal emotion to me as I looked closely at all the beauty around me in my everyday life. I slowed down my life to see, to realy see and now I am taking a journal with me everywhere. Thanks for opening my eyes with the wonderful book containing beautiful drawings and words!!!
